We Need a Full Inquiry into the G20 : What You Can Do To Help

After spending a billion dollars on security for the G20 we are left primarily with questions and bruises. Police failed to stop mass vandalism on the Saturday of the G20 weekend, and then seemed to arrest everyone they came across on Sunday - more than 1,000 people in total, most of whom where charged with nothing. From many of the people arrested have come stories of false arrest, police brutality, and worse.

The G20 may be over but there will be other important international events in Toronto and elsewhere in Canada, if we are going to get to the bottom of what happened someone needs to answer some very important questions. It is also important that the answers to those questions come from an impartial juror and not from police, politicians or anyone directly involved in planning the G20.

For the sake of Toronto and all of Canada please stand up with us to insist on greater government transparency and to let our politicians know that the rights of Canadians cannot be suspended simply because we are hosting an international event.

Write your City Councilor and let them know that you support an independent inquiry and that you're displeased about their unanimous support of the Police before ANY investigations have been completed.
