Two More #Fails: McLean's Andrew Coyne denounces freedom of the Press, T.O. police spends money congratulating itself.

I said earlier that everyone involved in the G20 summit failed today which is absolutely true:

But this evening there are two more significant failures that I'd like to draw your attention to:

First Andrew Coyne, National editor of Maclean's magazine and regular on the CBC the National's at issue panel came out against free speech, and (since freedom of the press is derived from free speech he is de-facto denouncing that too.)



(Please note: this statement would include Oxfam, Greenpeace, Amnesty International, the Raging Grannies and others))

Dispite massive criticism Coyne refused to defend or clarify his statement, he simply continued:



Meanwhile Toronto Police Cst Scott Mills who is the "Police Social Media Relations Officer" worked all day - but did nothing to inform the republic about what was going on and didn't spend time answering questions, instead he just re-tweeted messages supportive of Toronto Police (we can hope, but shouldn't assume, that he wasn't being paid to do this:

And I've been reading reports in the Toronto Star and hearing more on CBC's Cross-Country Checkup on and from some of those peaceful protesters today. Sorry, Mr. Coyne...
