Eyewitness account of Al Jazeera reporter who was on the Mavi Marmara

Al Jazeera reporter Jamal Elshayyal was on the deck of the flotilla ship that was attacked by Israel. He has posted an account of what happened, from his perspective, from the moment the flotilla first encountered the Israeli Navy until he was deported from Israel. It is a strikingly different account of events from that being put forward by the Government of Israel.

"After what seemed at the time as roughly 30 minutes, passengers on board the ship raised a white flag. The Israeli army continued to fire live ammunition. The ships organisers made a loud speaker announcement saying they have surrendered the ship. The Israeli army continued to fire live ammunition.
